Avon Free Library
Avon, NY.  Contact: Joan Rodgers, President, (585) 226-8075, or Jeanna Reuter, Director, (518) 226-8461.  In 1991, Bero Architecture did a condition report analyzing the library’s early twentieth century historic building.  The library then began a campaign of maintenance and improvements including making the library accessible, restoration of an entry, and renovation of the interior to accommodate modern library needs. Bero Architecture provided full architectural services:  measured drawings, programming assistance, design, contract documents and construction administration.  The last project, renovation of the first floor, was completed in 2004.

Byron-Bergen Public Library
Bergen, NY.  Contact: Don Cunningham, Town Councilman, dcunningham@unidex-inc.com This work, currently under way (October, 2007) is a study of the feasability of relocating the library to a larger, historic Tulley Block building in Bergen.  Services include measured sketches, assistance with programming, and schematic designs and estimates.

Bell Memorial Library
Nunda, NY.  Contact: Richard Sinsabaugh, President, (585) 468-2266 In 1998, Bero Architecture provided a Report of Site Visit funded in part by a Technical Assistance Grant from the New York State Council on the Arts. The work included measurements, field study, expansion study, and access study in 1998.

Bolivar Free Library
Bolivar, NY.  Contact: Eileen Schaffner, (585) 928-2015.  In 2000 we did the work necessary to nominate this 1910 Carnegie library building, built in Spanish Mission style, for listing in the National Register of Historic Places.  A 2004 condition report followed and since then we have been providing consultations as required, most recently assisting with restoration of cast stone trim and renovation of interior lighting.  Exterior work is partially funded by a grant from NYS Public Library Construction Grant Program.

Clifton Springs Library
Clifton Springs, NY.  Contact: Marjorie B Morris, President, (315) 462-7371.  Our initial work was a feasability study in 1989, partially funded by a grant from the New York State Council on the Arts, for adaptive reuse of the old train station.  For the construction work, Bero Architecture provided full architectural services.  The project was honored by an Award of Merit by the Landmark Society of Western new York.

Gorham Free Library
Gorham, NY.  Contact: Maggie Arkins, Supervisor, (585) 526-6655.  In 1996, Bero Architecture provided a Report of Site Visit funded in part by a Technical Assistance Grant from the New York State Council on the Arts.

Marion Public Library
Marion, NY.  Contact: Muriel DeReu, (315) 926-4933.  Bero Architecture evaluated the Marion Grange for potential reuse by the Marion Public Library in 1995.  The study was partially funded by a Technical Assistance Grant from the New York State Council on the Arts.

Morrisville Public Library
Morrisville, NY.  Contact: Michelle Forward, Library Manager (315) 684-9130.  Bero Architecture provided a Condition Report on the library’s National Register-listed late nineteenth century building in 2004.  The report included suggested expansion alternatives.

Paddy Hill Public Library
Greece, NY.  Contact: June Shapiro, Library Director (585) 723-2257.  A brief condition report was completed in 1986, followed by an Historic Structures Report in 1989.  Exterior restoration and modifications to the entry to accommodate the handicapped were undertaken and completed in 1995.  For the construction work, Bero Architecture provided full architectural services.

Phelps Community Memorial Library
Phelps, NY.  Contact: Bob Hussar, (315) 548-3120.  The library occupied a National Register-listed building, originally constructed as a church.  In 1998 Bero Architecture provided a Report of Site Visit, funded in part by a Grant from the New York State Council on the Arts under their Rural New York grant program.  This was followed, in 1999, with assistance with exterior masonry restoration.

Rundel Memorial Library
Rochester, NY.  Contact: Robert Healy, Architect, (585) 454-6110. This Neoclassical/Art Deco building was built in 1932-35 and is listed in the National Register.  As part of a major expansion of the library in 1996, Bero Architecture provided sub-consultant services to LaBella Associates.  We studied modifications to the entrance and the entrance plaza and provided specifications for restoration of the first floor interior.  Working for the City of Rochester, owner of the building, we studied the condition of the exterior envelope of the building and provided a report to the library administration.

Swan Library
Albion, NY.  Contact: Judy Christopher, Trustee, (585) 589-1825.  This work, currently under way (October, 2007) is a study of the feasability of relocating the library to a larger, historic building in downtown Albion.  Services include measured sketches, assistance with programming, and schematic designs and estimates.

Scottsville Free Library
Scottsville, NY.  Contact: Beverly Reeves, President, (585) 889-2023.  Our work here included a condition report in 1992 and a feasability study for renovations in 1998.

Waterloo Library and Historical Society
Waterloo, NY.  Contact: Lynn Patti, President, (315) 539-2580.  We provided building evaluation and conservation recommendations in 2001.  This report was funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the Conservation Assessment Program administered by Heritage Preservation.  An evaluation of the slate roofing was completed in 2003.  Construction work, including slate roofing, flashing, masonry, carpentry, wrought iron restoration, and terra cotta restoration, was completed in 2007.  Partial funding of construction was provided by a New York Environmental Protection Fund (EPF) grant of $165,770.
